Widely grown across the Eastern US, this chestnut tree combines the best of two different varieties of American and Chinese Chestnut. First hybridized by Dr. Robert Dunstan in the 1940s by a chance discovery, this Chestnut is both blight resistant and cold tolerant. Check out this article for more information about the discovery and creation of the Dunstan Chestnut. We recommend planting at least 3 Chestnuts for vigor and intense cross pollination produces the best chestnuts.
