Galy Apple
Created in Lyon, France in the late 2010s, the Galy apple is designed to be an improvement on the popular Gala Apple. It is a deep, saturated red color that covers nearly 100% of the apple's surface. Easy to grow and perfect for organic farmers, the Galy apple is resistant to apple scab diseases. The tree is vigorous and precocious and is so productive that it requires consistent thinning to maintain healthy crop production. The apple can store well for up to 4 months are are ready to harvest in late August (this might vary depending on climate). The apples are uniform in size and color with a fine and firm, slightly acidic taste. Read more about the Galy apple and other modern French varieties here.
