Discovered as a single tree in 1912 on John Hale's grandfather's farm. The Hale family had been fruit growers in New England for quite sometime. It has long been held as a superior American peach and is great for canning, easting, and baking. It is medium to large in size, freestone, and juicy with bright yellow flesh. The peach is unusual as it needs another peach to pollinate. It's a good producer and consistent cropper that does require more spray to ward off diseases. This is a late ripening peach being ready for harvest in September.
