Red Twig Dogwood
Prolific grower- these shrubs reach heights of 10' in ideal conditions and produce small, white flower in umbels in the Spring. Once temperatures drop in the fall, the stems turn a bright red color and contrast well against a snowy landscape. Often used for hedges and windbreaks, the Red Twig Dogwood must be cut back every 5 years or so to maintain the bright red skin. Otherwise, the skin turns a dull rust color that is not as vibrant.
