Developed in the 1990s by the Pacific Agri-Food Centre in British Columbia and is another offspring of the prodigious Golden Delicious. This apple is similar to a Jonagold but with greater firmness and storage ability. A strong mid-season apple, the Creston ripens at the height of apple season. The skin is yellowish-green that blushes to a soft red color with faint stripes. The flesh is creamy white in color, fine grained and sweet. The tree is moderately vigorous and tends to spread. Prune this tree lightly to help stave off biennialism. This is Noel's favorite apple.
