The Burgundy Pearl cherry is a dark red to almost black sweet cherry variety that is known for its intense flavor and firm texture. It is a relatively new cherry variety that was developed in the United States in the 1990s.

The Cherry has a medium to large size and a firm, crunchy texture. The fruit is juicy and has a sweet, rich flavor that is often described as having notes of raspberry and plum.The Burgundy Pearl cherry typically ripens in mid to late June, making it an early to mid-season cherry variety. The fruit is ideal for fresh consumption, but can also be used for cooking and baking.

The Burgundy Pearl cherry tree is a moderately vigorous and productive tree that requires a pollination partner to produce fruit. It typically blooms in mid-spring and requires full sun exposure and well-drained soil. A heavy bloomer, it requires some pruning to keep from crowding and blooms open in late April and are snow white. Cherries do not ripen all at once allowing for multiple harvests spreading out the bounty over several days.
