Kickapoo Spice Apple
Developed in Gays Mills, WI at the Orchard of Bill and Marlene Meyer. A spicy apple that takes advantage of the Driftless Region's unusual topography and climate to create a superbly delicious apple. Excellent for baking, eating, and canning- this apple features excellent flavor and shelf life.
The apple is small and conical shaped. Its skin is bright red with pronounced lenticels along its vertical ridges. The red skin bleeds slightly into the flesh which generally is yellow in color. The flesh is fine grained and very crunchy and very tart. This is an excellent early baking apple and stores well for its harvest date.
