The most popular and easy to grow asparagus plant. It produces straight, green, and point stalks that grow in many soil types. They are large stalks and ripen earlier than other asparagus plants. The stalks snaps cleanly and is crispy and delicious to eat. The plant is partially shade tolerant but thrives in full sun. Plant individual crowns 12-18 inches apart for best growth and spread. The Martha Washington is the female plant that does produce seeds in autumn which spread the asparagus plant beyond its original bed. Plants come in packs of 5 and are 2 year old plants.
