Rainier cherry was developed in 1952 at Washington State University. It is a cross between the Bing and Van cultivars. Rainier cherries are one of the sweetest, most delicate, and tastiest of all cherries. Good quality Rainier cherries will be large firm and have yellow and red blush coloring.
