The Harrison Cider Apple was lost to history until 1976 when a fruit collector rediscovered the tree growing next to a defunct cider mill near Orange Mountain, New Jersey. The apple has returned to cultivation and is now widely available. The apples were renowned for making world-class cider during the nineteenth century. The fruit is off-white to yellow with black spots and the flesh is yellow and very dry. This is Harrison's favorite apple.
