Glenora is a high-quality, seedless table grape producing medium-sized blue-black berries with a mild, pleasant, and slightly spicy flavor. The vine is vigorous and productive, forming long, well-filled clusters of medium to large, loose grapes. Berries have thin, smooth skin and fine-textured, melting flesh, offering a sweet and refreshing taste without noticeable labrusca character.
Selected in 1952 from the cross Ontario × Russian Seedless (likely a synonym of Black Monukka), Glenora combines excellent flavor with high vigor and reliable productivity. Vines appear resistant to grape phylloxera and generally do not require grafting to a resistant rootstock. Flowers are perfect, with upright stamens, supporting large clusters of medium-sized berries. Fruit responds very well to gibberellin treatment, which can improve cluster length and berry size.
Glenora grapes are well-suited for fresh eating and table use, and the vine holds fruit well on the vine if needed.
