Discovered in 1880 as a chance seedling in Kansas. Known across the South as a sugar pear due to is incredible sweetness. The pear has a low, 300, chill hours making it great for southern climates. The skin is soft and juicy with a yellowish-bronze tint when ripe. Pears ripen from inside out so we recommend picking them early and ripening on the counter. Pear with its rootstock is resistant to fireblight.
