A tall, upright, columnar evergreen shrub, the Arbor Vitae is a perfect hedge shrub. It grows in zone 3-7 and can tolerate numerous different varieties of soil. The branches are tightly packed together creating shelter for birds while also providing privacy and wind breaks. They require little to no maintenance. The Emerald Green Variety grown nearly uniform in shape through 80% of the plant then taper off to a point at the top of the tree.
