Crimson King Maple
Growing to heights of 35-45', the Crimson King Maple is one of the few dark colored leafed trees in the US. In spring, the leaves shoot out a shiny merlot color that darken throughout the summer before turning a deep rusty maroon color in fall. Tolerant or shade and heat, this maple tree provides deep shade and cover during the summer months. Its overall oval shape upon maturity helps it not only block out the sun, but is resistant to damage from ice and snow. During droughts, watering is essential when newly planted but can tolerate adverse conditions when established.
