Fameuse Snow Apple
The Fameuse is a parent cultivar of the MacIntosh. During the late 1700s, this variety was planted throughout New England and gained popularity for its diversity. They are great for fresh eating, baking, and cider pressing. The skin is red over green and the tender snow-white flesh imparts a distinctive spicy flavor. The heavy- yielding trees bear fruit in mid to late-October and hardy through USDA zone 3.
