This gorgeous apricot is probably the reddest of all varieties- upon maturity they blush bright red color that is almost purple. Large and firm fruit ripens before most other varieties and is sweet and slightly tart. In April, the tree is flush with bright white flowers that are extraordinarily fragrant. The pit is also one the larger side but is freestone. Some evidence suggests this apricot can grow in Zone 4 but it tends to flower early making it susceptible to late frosts.
