Noted for its excellent disease resistance, this crabapple can tolerant more adverse conditions than other crabapples. The buds are dark crimson and open in April to a lovely pink color that varies from flower to flower giving the tree a non-uniform look that is pleasing to the eye. The fruit is bright red and can be used for canning or baking.
